ARM Chips for low-power servers

14 Mar

Do you have  tablet or a smartphone? More likely than not, your device may be running on an ARM chip (if not, it’s running on a Qualcomm chip) that consumes a low amount of energy per second- this allows for the longer runtime of your device.

There are companies that seek to use low-power servers in order to cut costs (these may be the servers that do not experience high volumes of traffic), thus, the ARM chips are being utilized to produce low power server CPUs. This move can push for a greener alternative to the conventional high performance chips from AMD or Intel.
