GPS Dependency

14 Mar

Think you’re free from problems because you don’t rely on the GPS for navigation purposes? Think again, according to the source, GPS has become an indispensable utility: “Cellphone companies use GPS time signals to coordinate how your phone talks to their towers. Energy suppliers turn to GPS for synchronising electricity grids when connecting them together. And banks and stock exchanges use the satellites for time-stamps that prevent fraud.”

This dependence may cause the world to burn and fall into chaos by a simple device that can jam GPS signals- a paradox that makes people live more conveniently at the expense of the massive negative effect that is similar to withdrawal symptoms once these conveniences disappear (imagine not being to use your facebook account for more than a month).
